Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
John earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minor in psychology, from Presentation College, Aberdeen, South Dakota in 2014. He obtained a Psychiatry and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner doctorate degree from The College of Saint Scholastica, Duluth, MN.
John has worked in acute psychiatric and medical psychiatric units, and has treated children, adolescents and adults with various mental health concerns and disorders including depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, psychotic disorder, and bipolar disorders.
John is a big proponent of dual therapy with psychotherapy and psychopharmacological interventions. His personal clinical philosophy is “person first”, which is a clinical philosophy that recognizes the person in the patient and seeks to help resolve the patient's clinical presentations while isolating the person.
