She spent the next 15 years in a variety of roles in both hospital and private settings, including as an ICU nurse, a cardiac procedural nurse, overseeing a network of group homes for physically and developmentally disabled adults throughout the Twin Cities metro area, and working in a level 6 child and adolescent treatment facility. She then attended Regis College, where she earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice.
As a nurse practitioner she is passionate about child and adolescent mental health and has specialized in treating patients during those crucial formative years. Her approach to mental health practice is holistic, empowering, and inclusive. She strives to not only treat her patients but also to educate and empower them so they can understand and participate in their own care.
